so glad to be home
the end of January did a less than 24 hours breeze through in New Orleans. And this week i was off to Des Moines and down to St. Louis (yes, we were too tired to even see the arch). the seven hour drive between the two was surprisingly enjoyable with one of our senior leaders at work, a man that i thought was a stuffed shirt turned out to be really "real." Thanks to him, some candy and good chemistry we all ended up laughing and enjoying each others company...especially at the Flying J truck stop in northern Missouri, can you say hicksville? Friday night Rich welcomed me home with open arms...he kinda misses me when I'm gone. So we caught each other up and watched Battlestar Galactica. Saturday was "road trip day" off to Arrow Springs glass supplies in Cameron Park. Why are most glass people aging hippies???" Well they were in the business park and just walking up Rich and I knew something was up...so the woman inside the door manning her office asked if she could help us and i really thought i'd walk up to a big store with sheets of beautiful sheets of glass, rods, stringers ect...not a 4 by 6 office in chaos/crammed with crap...she saw the fear in our eyes and directed us to the back warehouse. Back there was shelves of frit, rods and sheet glass in every color you could imagine...we bought some glass diamond bits to drill holes in glass and got the hell out of there. I have bought from them and had them mail me the stuff...think i'm going to stick to that method in the future.
then we ate localally...mistake!
oh well next off to Folsom lake for the girls...amazing how low it was but the girls enjoyed it tons. it was nice to see them playing and allie did run out of steam early but no limping (yeah!) Where there is water, Tig loves to play rock. She blindly claws to find a perfect rock, holds her breathe and dunks her entire head to find her rock, then pops up with your treasure, you’ll see in one of the pictures that she found a tablet verses her regular 3 inch rock. She’s crazy for rocks! Then we towed our tired pups home, did a bit of chores and heading out to Centro for Mexican dinner DOWNTOWN-muy delicous and did the Artists Collaborative to admire and maybe steal some art ideas. Happy Valentines day and come on spring!!!
Ps. Jolynne-hell yeah, bring it on!!!
