why when you have bad news you are resistant to tell anyone?

Saturday we got verification from our vet that Allie tore her ACL, yes spaz has a sports injury. We have solicited feedback from my sissy who's Jack Russel, Reggie had a similar injury and healed on his own and a coworker with a queensland healer who's had the surgery on her spaz dog on both sides-oy veh! So I'm totally open to any feedback, recommendation or advice?
On a possitive note, SURVIVOR!!!!! Went to our buddies house, ate tooooo much and enjoyed our 10th season pool. RICH won with Dannie!
